@ Dandenong Basketball

Dandenong Basketball, in partnership with Jayco, would like to introduce you to the "Jayco Shoot for the Stars" schools program.
The concept has been developed in conjunction with Southern Health, Greater Dandenong's Community Health Service, and Education Institutions and is aimed at encouraging schools to help promote a healthy lifestyle through the sport of basketball.
This program involves free basketball clinics being held at your school with players from the Dandenong Women's National Basketball League coming out to coach the children in various skills work and provide tips on healthy lifestyle options.
The clinics will be held over a 4 week block with each lasting up to 1 hour in duration and is aimed at students from grade 3 to 6. Group sizes of between 40 & 60 are preferable and multiple groups per school can be arranged.
At the end of the 4 weeks, students take home with them a pack containing various merchandise as well as information about leading a healthy lifestyle. Teachers will also recieve a resource pack to use with the children that outlines healthy choices and tips.
This program provides a great opportunity for your students to enjoy the the sport of basketball and potentially lead them on the path of active participation in organized sport, as well as learning about leading a healthy lifestyle.
